Investment supports growth of a global leader in precision surface-finishing technology
Salt Lake City, UT – October 12th, 2026 – The Cynosure Group ("Cynosure") today announced that its affiliates, together with Fernweh Group ("Fernweh"), have completed a strategic minority investment in Lapmaster Wolters and Precision Surfacing Solutions ("Lapmaster Wolters"). Lapmaster Wolters is a leading global supplier of high-precision equipment and consumables to the semiconductor, advanced materials, precision optics, and advanced packaging industries.
Lapmaster Wolters designs and manufactures machines that finish surfaces to the exacting flatness and smoothness standards required for semiconductors and other advanced components. The investment comes amid growing demand for precision manufacturing as semiconductor capacity expands, infrastructure for artificial intelligence and high-performance computing grows, and advanced materials gain wider use.
